Apple On The Way To Produce "Apple Brain A5"

Taking a big leap, in order to make the igadgets more intelligent, Apple is on the way to get a next generation Brain i.e. A5 processors.APPLE is going to use this highly intellectual processor in its iphones and ipads. Apple famously produces its iGadgets overseas, but a new report puts new production of the A5 brains in the iPhone and iPad. 

Apple is well-known for manufacturing iPhones, iPods, iPads, and Macintosh computers overseas at manufacturers like Foxconn, and sourcing its components in bulk from a variety of manufacturers. But a new report from Reuters finds Apple is now starting to get the A5 microprocessor brains used in its iPad 2 and iPhone 4S from a new 1.6 million square foot facility in Texas. And that’s not the only surprise: the factory is owned by Samsung.

According to Reuters, the facility cost some $3.6 billion to build, and while the facility also produces flash memory, the plant was recently expanded to manufacture logic chips — and almost all the logic chip production is for Apple’s A5 processor.

The move is interesting since it reflects a deepening of ties between Apple and Samsung at the same time the companies are engaged in a range of patent infringement and copyright lawsuits against each other around the world. Many of the suits center on Samsung’s Android-powered Galaxy Tab tablets and Galaxy smartphones, which Apple has accused of “slavishly” copying its designs. 

Historically, Apple has been one of Samsung’s biggest customers. Reports earlier this year had Apple committing to buy nearly $8 billion in components from Samsung and testing new processor manufacturing with Taiwan’s TMSC. Just this week, new reports surfaced of Apple looking to purchase Israel-based flash memory maker Anobit, although that deal likely has more to do with flash memory technology than manufacturing capacity. 

So at the end of the day what you can expect..? A better and more intelliget igadgets,or, in the mean time a better Apple-Samsung-Android relationship.Just wait for few more days to hands on ipads,iphones with A5 processors.

Galaxy and iPhone Top Smartphone Seller

Apple's long-awaited iPhone 4S and Samsung Electronics' fresh, broad offering are likely to stand out in this season's smartphone sales which will otherwise be clouded by global economic uncertainty.

Apple, which lost its position as the world's largest smartphone maker to Samsung last quarter, could regain top spot as consumers rush to buy the latest iPhone after waiting 16 months since the previous model went on sale.


"It's really only the iPhone family and the (Samsung) Galaxy family flying off the shelves. Everyone else is just picking up the leftovers," said Neil Mawston, analyst at research firm Strategy Analytics in Milton Keynes.

HTC and Research In Motion -- No.4 and No.5 smartphone vendors -- have already warned of weak holiday sales. The year end is a key sales season for smartphone vendors as consumers often replace their models for the holidays.


Overall phone sales have been shrinking in western Europe this year as consumers delay purchases in a tighter economy. Analysts expect sales of non-smartphones to stay on a par with year-ago numbers.Smartphone sales growth, which is driven by swapping for more advanced models, has slowed over the year.

"For Europe, Q4 will not be the usual bonanza. The economy is pushing consumers to be pickier," said Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi, adding this played to the advantage of Samsung and Apple.

Samsung's handset sales this year broke a new annual record by the end of November, boosted by good demand for its flagship Galaxy S II model, whose sales reached 10 million units, the company said a week ago.

Sales of Nokia products will also be closely watched in the quarter for first reactions to its Windows Phone models, although most Nokia smartphones are still powered by its own ageing Symbian software.

Analysts expect Nokia's smartphones sales in the fourth quarter to fall 31 percent from a year ago to 19 million phones as the new Windows Phones will not yet compensate for diving Symbian sales. Still, that would be well ahead of HTC's 11 million and RIM's 14 million.

Chinese vendors ZTE and Huawei have started to win market share with their cheap smartphones using Android, and cut-price competition is set to continue with chipset supplier Spreadtrum unveiling last week a platform for $40 Android phones.

Android 4.0 Upgrade List: Devices Expected to Get Ice Cream Sandwich

HTC

HTC has committed to upgrading a number of its smartphones in "early 2012." The update list includes the Amaze 4G, EVO 3D,EVO Design 4G, Rezound, Sensation, Sensation XE, Sensation XL, and Vivid. Most of these devices are sold in the U.S. by the major carriers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

LG

LG, too, has announced via its Facebook page that it will upgrade a handful of its Android smartphones to Android 4.0. They are the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D, Optimus Black, and the Optimus LTE.So far, LG has only committed to updating the international variants.

Motorola

The list of Motorola handsets on deck to receive Ice Cream Sandwich is pretty short. The only phones definitely receiving Android 4.0 are the Droid Bionic, Droid Razr (U.S. version), and Razr (international version). Motorola announced that these phones will get Android 4.0 early in 2012. 

Samsung

Samsung hasn't been as forthcoming as its rivals about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades. We know that the Galaxy Nexus will ship with Android 4.0. The Galaxy Nexus S II Skyrocket for AT&T will get Android 4.0. Beyond these two phones, Samsung hasn't said anything about its entire line of Galaxy smartphones.

Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has been far more vocal about which devices will receive Android 4.0. In a blog post, Sony said that it will update its entire line-up of Xperia-branded Android smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This includes the Xperia arc and arc S, Xperia Play, Xperia neo and neo V, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active, and Xperia ray.Sony Ericsson  is working to merge the features of its Xperia software with those of Android 4.0, and will have more information on the availability of the system updates at a later time, but the updates are on schedule for delivery in the first quarter of the year.
