Airtel, Aircel announce iPhone 4S plans

Airtel & Aircel both the operator's new plan are similar to their earlier iPhone plans with 50 percent claimed discount. Maximum savings of Rs 25,000 over two years.
As per the recent report from BGR, iPhone 4S would land in India on November 24. Aircel, one of the carrier in India who would bring the flagship device  in the country have already posted an image on their Facebook page. The image says that iPhone 4S is coming soon. It is also rumored that Airtel would be the second carrier to sell iPhone 4S in India.

Airtel and Aircel have announced their tariff plans for iPhone4S, and plans are similar to what was already available for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. The phone is currently in the pre-booking stage and will start shipping starting from 24th and 25th November from Airtel and Aircel respectively.
Airtel is offering plans starting at a minimum monthly commitment of Rs 300, in which user gets 500 minutes local calls, 300 SMS and 200 MB data free every month. Airtel claims this is worth Rs 600 and therefore a discount of Rs 300 and savings of Rs 7,200 over the two year period.

In Rs 1,000 monthly you will get 1,500 minutes of local calls, 600 SMS and 3 GB data per month. This plan is claimed to be worth Rs 2,000 and therefore a total savings of Rs 24,000 over a period of two years.
Previously, Airtel and Aircel were the two carriers who launched iPhone 4 in India. It seems that Vodafone would still remain out of the official carrier trend to sell the iPhone. The sources also suggests that iPhone 4S could cost Rs 40,000/- in India for 16GB model. Whereas, iPhone 4S 64GB could touch the mark of over Rs 50,000/-. On the flip side, iPhone 4 8GB would cost more than Rs 30,000/-. Also, there is no confirmation if it would be tied to carriers or users would get the freedom to choose any sim card.

Two other plans with similar discount will cost you Rs 500 and Rs 800. The plans remain same for both prepaid and postpaid users across all models and version of iPhone including iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS.
Aircel is offering two plans only costing Rs 950 and Rs 1,150 per month, and it claims is a 50% discount. On offer is 3000 and 3500 minutes of both local and STD minutes, 350 and 450 SMS and 650 MB 3G data, and 1 GB WiFi data at Aircel WiFi hotspots every month for Rs 950 and Rs 1150 plans respectively.
The iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS will only be available in 8 GB versions going forward. The iPhone 4S has been priced Rs 44,500 for 16 GB version, Rs 50,900 (32 GB), and Rs 57,500 (64 GB).

While Aircel is offering more calls and SMS free, data usage cap is much lower. So the choice between the two depends on how much 3G access you need and how much you are willing to pay for it.
Unlike Airtel plan, Aircel is offering plans tied to the handset version which means a person buying 16 GB version will get Rs 950 plan and 32 GB will get Rs 1150 plan only.
Aircel will continue to offer iPhone 4 in 16 GB and 32 GB versions with plans varying between Rs 399 to Rs 800. And iPhone 3GS only one version will be available with option of Rs 299 and Rs 599 plans. All the plans are claimed to offer 50% savings over normal tariff plans.

Windows Phone 7.5 - Mango

'Bite To a Slice of Mango'

When it is about style, Windows Phone 7.5 beats everyone else. Microsoft is betting big on its latest mango update for Windows Phone. It is truly an innovative thought-process of what a phone UI  should look like and how efficiently you can use this.

Look and feel:
A completely new Concept called ‘tile’ adds a refreshing look to its interface. you will find the UI more live with tiles showing updates as they are available. Tiles also give you access to your favorite features. It can be an application, a file, an inbox or a ‘hub’. There is a support for third party apps that you can use in live tiles.
It uses an integrated ‘people hub’ that adds more liveliness to its highly acclaimed interface. It lists all your content from various services(i.e facebook). you can easily track history, see updates and do interactions with them.

Social Connection:
When it comes to social integration, the windows phone adds more slices... i.e now you can integrate your Twitter and Linkedin contacts in addition to Facebook one.You can categorize your contacts into groups and can pin these groups on your home screen.Your Facebook events are integrated with the calender. You can share photos through Facebook and windows live messenger app can be used to access Twitter.

Messaging:
well it is really putting people first. The Messaging app contains sms, facebook chat and live messenger. The people hub contains Twitter and LinkedIn integration. Contact cards now include all the contacts conversation history (SMS, emails, MMS, Messenger, etc.). All messaging communication organized in a single thread no matter it can be Messenger, SMS or MMS.It has also a support for Threaded email conversations and Outlook tasks.

Multimedia Front:
This new release still uses the zune desktop app for syncing music and videos also for file transfer no bluetooth facility is available. You can create your own customized ringtone but no "save as ringtone" option is there for you. The phone supports voice commands so you can call or text a contact. At the Camera side, the nice feature is that it retains your custom settings when you exit from the application with the save settings option.

Market Place:
Windows Phone apps market place recently touches the 40,000 apps mark, which is a good sign for app users and developers. XBOX integration makes app access very easy and gives a chance to access a huge & high quality game library. You can even try them before purchasing it.

Mango tastes good but lacks pulp:
Mango has got varous significant features and cool gesture, still it needs some more hands for the finest. The things that you can find not so smart one :
~ Dependency on zune for syncing.
~ Absence of handy file transfer feature (i.e bluetooth).
~ No file manager.
~ No Mass storage mode is availabe.

So you can expect a solution for these lacks  and a better windows phone in its next update like Apollo.  :-)
From left Samsung OMNIA 7, LG Optimus 7 and Nokia Lumia 800.

Facebook Phone – code-named Buffy

Facebook Phone : 'Buffy'

Now be ready for a smartphone that lets you check your Facebook account anytime you like. Cool..! we're not talking about any third party phone with Facebook integration —we're talking about a brand new phone from Facebook itself that will be in the market in next 12 to 18 months, according to AllThingsD.

facebook, who has been kicking around the idea of entering into the smart mobile phone business for years, is working with Taiwanese cellphone maker HTC to create a Facebook branded smartphone. The new phone, which is code-named “Buffy”,will be designed to transition Facebook from a popular mobile app to a fully integrated phone experience.

Facebook has selected HTC over Samsung to make a heavily modded Android phone that "has the social network integrated at the core of its being." with code named "Buffy."

As per the Facebook’s mobile strategy- “Our mobile strategy is simple: We think every mobile device is better if it is deeply social. We’re working across the entire mobile industry; with operators, hardware manufacturers, OS providers, and application developers to bring powerful social experiences to more people around the world.” told to AllThingsD.

The project," which is being run by Facebook CTO Bret Taylor, the company plans to build the phone around a version of Google's Android mobile operating system that Facebook "has tweaked heavily to deeply integrate its services, as well as to support HTML5 as a platform for applications."

The Buffy phone would weave the various features and services of facebook available on different smart phone platforms throughout the functionality of the device, allowing users to directly upload photos from the picture-taking app, or to integrate Facebook contacts with the phone's address book.

Facebook, with its over 800 million users worldwide and 350 million active mobile users,is planning to enter in the world of smart phone and at the same time utilize the new "Buffy" handset to continue and spreading its the social network’s dominance. The proposed Android phone will come with a pre-installed Facebook client, full Facebook integration, and will probably offer a dedicated button to quickly access Facebook at any time.

The long-term success of the Facebook phone will depend on whether the phone can offer a significantly more social experience than other Android phones with the Facebook app, along with other smart features and apps provided by highly competitive smart phone service provider.

Buffy also makes sense in the context of Google CEO Eric Schmidt's famous declaration that Google, Facebook, Apple, and Amazon represent a "Gang of Four" that dominates consumer technology. Each of those companies has a core area of strength that differentiates it from the other three, but each has also been increasingly expanding into the prime turf of its rivals.

So you have Amazon moving into Apple's iPad territory with the Kindle Fire, Google taking on Facebook with Google+ and trying to add some content muscle with a new music service to counter Amazon and Apple's iTunes, and perhaps Facebook finally joining the other three as a hardware player.

It sounds like a smart move for Facebook—but only time will tell where this all setup lands. While Apple and Google are currently the dominant players in the mobile market, Facebook may be able to leverage its loyal user base to win over mobile customers.

So now wait for Facebook's move.

Lexmark's new concept combines style, speed and elegance into one single all in one inkjet printer, termed the Genesis.

Utilizing Flash Scan technology, the Genesis produces prints incredibly quickly and switches between print and scan functions in the blink of an eye. The scanning process is said not to last any longer than three seconds, based on the premise that your Operating System is up to date, your PC is equipped with an up to date specification in terms of hardware and the usage of character recognition software
Lexmark Genesis

The Lexmark Genesis looks smart in its upright position, made even more slick by posessing a 4.4 inch color touch screen. The printer comes wirelessly enabled allowing you to access web technologies quickly, without the need for booting up your PC also. Browse through Twitter feeds, look through Facebook all from the printer itself, and upload scans to wherever you wish. This really is a printer for the current generation, which makes most other printers on the market look a bit cheap and dated.
